A Double Cure

Have you ever had trouble with your negative emotions? My goodness! I know yesterday was not a good day for mine. I about blew a gasket yesterday at work.

There was a situation where something wasn’t getting done. Product had been sitting around for three work days. When I was informed, I knew it was an issue I had to address, and like now!

Grasshopper Minded?

Have you allowed fears to hinder you? I was quite fearful growing up. My Dad was served in the Air Force and we traveled quite a bit.

Meeting new people and making new friends was quite difficult. I had a hard time developing adequate social skills moving from place to place like I had.

Life More Abundantly

John 10:10 is one of my favorite verses in the Bible! “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it  more abundantly!”

In Smith Wigglesworth message “The Baptism of the Holy Spirit,” he makes reference to the expression “much more” found in Romans 5. This is mentioned 5 times in the chapter.

Substance Abuse and Addictions

What is it about substance abuse and addictions that have such a great pull over people’s lives? It can be very devastating.

Tonight I was mulling over my life and the situation with my family. Substance abuse has a way of darkening the environment. Constricting the very air around you, or so it seems.

Fullness of The Spirit

Have you had times when it seemed like God was so real in your life? Times when the presence of God was so sweet and prevalent? But now you feel dry and it’s like He’s nowhere to be found?

That’s how Samson must have felt! God had anointed him and God was able to move mightily in his life. The anointing was so strong. Then, “kaput!” it left.

More Daunting

What to write, what to write? Boy, setting up a commitment for three posts a week appears to be more of a daunting task than I had expected.

I am a Supervisor at a fairly demanding Job with many things going on. I lead a prayer meeting on Friday nights. Then there’s the family. Right now as I write, our home situation is going through a set of circumstances that I had thought we were done with. We are praying and believing for the best.

I want to write thought provoking material. But, this takes more time than I had expected. I will continue to think this over and I will keep my commitment for three posts a week (at least).

Holy Spirit The Difference Maker

One of my main objectives is to stir myself up in faith. I want to so stoke my faith, that I become strong in the Lord. As I stated in my last post, my faith has become somewhat stymied.

One of the greatest people I have read about in modern times is Smith Wigglesworth. In Hebrews 6:11-12, I am encouraged to follow those who inherited the promises.

The devil hates agreement between believers. Agreement opens the windows of heaven to us, and it closes the door on every destructive thing he can do. So he will continually try to disrupt that agreement by causing strife and division in the two places where believers come together in the most powerful way: the family and the church.

Struggling With Faith

I’ve had many wonderful opportunities to preach and teach at my local Church. I love to preach the word of faith message. I have also had some tremendous experiences with faith.

I have seen a person healed with back issues. Another who was scheduled with for surgery healed. I myself have had wonderful experiences with healing.

God is Your Full Supply!

A coworker of mine was relaying a story to me about his daughter. “”When my daughter was four years old, she was saying ‘Daddy, I want this, I want that, I need this, I need that.’ In exasperation I said ‘I’m not rich’ and what my daughter said floored me ‘Daddy, you’ll never be rich, you have me.’ I bent over laughing”

For a middle class family earning $61,530 and $106,540, the costs of raising a child can be staggering. According to USDA.Gov (http://www.usda.gov/wps/portal/usda/usdahome?contentidonly=true&contentid=2014/08/0179.xml), a child born in 2013 will cost $245,340 to raise from birth to 18 years old. But in reality, cost of living — from housing to education to childcare — varies so much by location that the price of raising children can range precipitously.
