There is an enemy of our soul out there. We are told in the scriptures that he comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). He wants to exploit the areas of our lives that are causing us heartache, disappointment’s, and difficulty.
His objective is to make us weary and loose heart. He is literally trying to wear us out! We see a glimpse of this in Daniel 7:25.
Issues of life come to us all. There are times when we can greatly struggle with our peace of mind. And the problems seem larger than life.
What kind of situations and trials are trying your faith and seem insurmountable in your eyes?
What is it about heroin usage that grips its victim to the point where he or she feels like “Heroin’s Puppet?” Or any substance for that matter that a person becomes a slave to?
I once had a childhood friend who was addicted to the smell of Vicks Vapor Rub. He would carry a jar around with him and sniff it throughout the course of the day. Not to speak of those I know that are alcoholics, or recovering alcoholics.
Have you ever reached a point where you couldn’t take it anymore? There are times when the storms of life can really rock your world. Where if you’re not careful, you can loose hope, and become very fearful.
I remember that I had organized a fishing trip one time for the local church I had attended. During that time the seas were fairly rough. I believe they were 4 – 6 foot seas. If I recall correctly, it was right at the limit of whether it was safe to go out or not.
Drug addiction of a family member can take a staggering toll on the rest of the family. Especially if the situation lingers. Those families who have gone through it will understand completely, and those who haven’t probably will not.
The main point I want to write with this blog is, what do you do in parallel with prayer and exercising of your faith? Are there any legal steps that can be taken? Especially when a loved one does not want to get help. Do you just watch them deteriorate before your eyes?
Science has proved that our brains can be rewired by the way that we think. That we’re not chained to our environment or DNA holding us trapped in a way of thinking that may be detrimental to our way of life.
Our brains have a neuroplasticity, meaning that they can change. We are not stuck in a rut, unless we choose to be. We can change our thoughts, thus changing the architecture of the brain, and the outcome of our life.
Bible faith is an exciting subject. In and of itself it can be elusive it seems. But as we continue to walk and be intentional, my understanding is, we can master it.
Smith Wigglesworth has this to say about faith:
My daughter came home one day for lunch and our home had been broken into. The person came through the porch window that had a makeshift lock. The person also ripped off the little hook lock off the back door in order to gain entry by yanking on it.
Only the 60″ TV was taken. Now this wasn’t any TV, this one had great sentimental value. Our son had bought the TV for us a Christmas gift a year and a half ago. We were saddened to see it missing.

Each year in Athol, for the past 52 years there is what is called a River Rat Race. It’s a big to do for the towns of Athol and Orange. There’s a parade, a 5K run, and even a carnival that all take place. Then there’s the canoe race, the creme de la creme of the weekend.
The Holy Spirit so mighty and powerful, yet so gentle and kind. In Him it’s wonderful to know that we can be filled with divine possibilities.
In contrast with this truth, my thoughts at times have caused my emotions to flare, which will in turn cause my actions to be suspect.
